SHARING OUT LOUD
Looking for a new listen that combines the serious with the fun? One that offers REAL stories of hard life shit with educational information? Look no further than SHARING OUT LOUD, a podcast hosted by a sober woman who got tired of staying silent about her alcoholism and sobriety, and frankly, everything else in life. A woman who spent so much of her life being told she was "too much," "too aggressive," "too loud," and "polarizing," that she never allowed herself to be 100% true to who she was, until now. She decided it was time to start SHARING OUT LOUD, and when she did everything changed.
Totally authentic, the SHARING OUT LOUD podcast will feature a wide range of guests from sober women, to health and fitness, to the world of energy healing, post-partum depression, women and toxic positivity, and who knows what else! Take a listen, you won't be disappointed!
SHARING OUT LOUD
It's never too late to take charge of your menopause health -- with Ann Marie Veletsos
Please welcome Ann Marie Veletsos, founder of Down Dog Fitness. Ann Marie is a lover of all things dogs😘, fitness, health & wellness, and most recently all things MENOPAUSE HEALTH.
More about Ann Marie:
Ann Marie started Down Dog Fitness as a place for people to get away from the stresses of their lives to feel better and realize this is their “playtime” just like dogs want to do when they get in their down dog pose. She is certified in the following:
- Certified Personal Trainer through NASM and ACE
- Yoga instructor
- Nutritious Life Master Certified Nutrition and Wellness Coach
- RRCA Run Coach
But she wasn't always a fitness guru, she didn't grow up playing sports or exercising at all! She was always “skinny” and, if fact, she was even nicknamed “Birdy” for her skinny legs.
Fast forward to her 30s when Ann Marie realized exercise made her feel better, and running made her feel like a total badass! She was hooked and went from running only a few miles at a time to completing multiple marathons, including Boston. What a huge achievement! But something changed in her early 40's. She wasn't sleeping, her periods were erratic, her body wasn't "behaving like normal" and she was depressed. You might be able to guess what happened when she tried to talk to her doctor about all of this:
- You are too young for menopause
- Your periods are erratic because of running
- You are too young for Osteoporosis
- You just need an antidepressant
So that is what she did, she was DESPERATE so she accepted the prescription and went on her merry way for 15 years. 15 years!!! 15 years of suffering through the symptoms including Osteoporosis, WTH? Until just this past year when she began hearing about the "new menopause" conversation -- could she still be eligible for HRT help (hormone replacement therapy)? Was there still hope for her to turn the Osteoporosis around? YESSSSSSS!
At age 56 (almost 57) Ann Marie is now on HRT and is on a mission to help educate other women about perimenopause and menopause, and she would LOVE to help you turn your menopause experience into a better one. From education on nutrition, to exercise, to supplements, she's got you!
